Suzi Hanks, an award-winning Radio Personality, Reporter, Producer and Copywriter, is the Gal Pal you always wanted! She has an innate ability to connect with her listeners, no matter what their age or background.  

Suzi has a super fun personality with the intellectual depth needed to keep listeners tuned in day after day to plenty of water cooler-worthy topics from fashion to sports to celebrities and hard news. And Suzi isn’t just a fabulous voice on the radio; she works both on and off the air to ensure that each and every show is top notch. 

With 30 years of experience in major market radio and television, Suzi has been a fixture on Houston morning drive radio for 20 years; first as a reporter on News Radio 740, KTRH; and then, as part of the popular Dean and Rog Morning Show. Suzi is also the News and Public Affairs Director at Cox Media Group, Houston, serving as host and producer of her daily Eagle News Updates and The FYI Show, a public affairs show that airs on 93Q Country KKBQ-FM, Country Legends 97.1 KTHT-FM and The Eagle 107.5 KGLK & 106.9 KHPT.

Suzi is also known for being…adventurous and untamed. On the Dean and Rog Show listeners have tuned in for 17 years straight to hear her signature “Friday, Suzi's Drink of the Week,” and she’s never repeated a recipe! She’s rappelled down the side of a downtown building during Houston rush hour, let station interns broadcast live from the operating room during a cosmetic procedure and much more. 

Originally from Palm Desert California, Suzi graduated from California State Long Beach with a degree in Radio/TV/Film. Suzi's first job in the industry was as a Page at NBC in Burbank where she led studio tours, worked in Press Relations and on shows such as The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, Days of Our Lives, Wheel of Fortune, Scrabble, Classic Concentration, Donahue, and Late Night with David Letterman. Suzi also worked on several Bob Hope specials, where he once famously told her to “get the hell out of the way.”

Suzi then worked in Wyoming, where she traveled far distances, dodging deer and antelope, to work at both TV stations in the state. She began her radio career at a tiny station in the middle of a cow pasture, where she did sales, news, an afternoon on-air DJ shift, and wrote, voiced and produced all commercials and newscasts. 

In line with her California roots, Suzi is an Island girl, living on the shores of Galveston Bay with her husband of 28 years. From saltwater fishing, SCUBA diving and swimming, she lives for the water! 

She also cherishes volunteering with Gulf Coast Big Brothers/Big Sisters, where she was matched with her “little” Marquitta in 2002. Today Marquitta is an AGGIE, finishing her final semester before graduation from Texas A&M!
